Evaluating Our Schedules

Woman: You know, I'd really like to get in a better habit of reading the Bible.

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: Every once in a while we need to slow down and evaluate our schedules.

Woman: But I work ten- to twelve-hour days, and they’re really taking their toll—so maybe when I’m less busy at work.”

Nancy: We tend to think that everything we’re doing is essential. But if we don’t have time to spend with God in prayer and in His Word, then we need to cut back.

Having an intimate relationship with Jesus means bringing all our activities under the scrutiny of His Spirit. It means letting Him show us His priorities for each season of our lives.

Take some time today and think through your schedule. Are there any activities that are keeping you from making prayer and Bible reading a high priority?

Pray the words of Psalm 90:12: “Teach us to number our days aright that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”
