A Dangerous Pattern

Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth: I believe that every sin starts with a lie, and every lie can lead us down a dangerous path. First, we listen to the lie.

Woman: I love this song! I know it’s all about adultery when you really analyze it, but it’s so funny!

Nancy: Second, we dwell on the lie.

Woman: My friend gave some pretty good reasons for leaving her husband. I’ve just been thinking about what she said over and over.

Nancy: Third, we believe the lie.

Woman: I’m just stuck in this marriage because I’m worried about what people would say. I just keep thinking it would be better to get out.

Nancy: Finally, we act on the lie.

Woman: Well, I finally did it.

Nancy: Do you find yourself anywhere on this path? The good news is that every lie can be countered by God’s Word.

I want to encourage you today to listen to the truth of God’s Word. Dwell on the truth, believe it, and act on it.
