“You will search for the Lord your God, and you will find him when you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul.” —Deuteronomy 4:29
Some of us have no clue what God wants us to do with our lives or even our days. We can’t figure out how to resolve conflicts in our homes, how to meet the needs of those closest to us, how to reach our neighbors with the gospel, or how to make simple decisions. The reason may be that we haven’t sought His answer in His Word.
God directs us through Scripture. As we read and meditate, the indwelling Spirit gives us understanding and wisdom to know how it applies to specific, practical areas of our lives. He uses His Word to reveal His priorities to us.
God may bring to mind various Scriptures that have bearing on the situation. He may impress upon you to seek counsel from a godly individual or a spiritual authority. He may remind you of another priority He has already given you. God does not leave you clueless, but you must seek Him to find Him.
