He Wants to Meet with You

October 20, 2025 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Let me see your face, let me hear your voice; for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely. —Song of Songs 2:14

There’s a touching moment in Song of Songs when the king bids his bride to leave what she’s doing and join him so they can spend intimate time alone.

This passage has radically altered my perspective on daily devotions and helped me see that my heavenly Bridegroom longs to spend time with me. Time with Him isn’t just something I need; it’s something that fulfills a longing in His heart.

When I go into His presence in the morning, it’s with a need and a desire to see His face and to hear His voice. But have you ever stopped to realize He wants the same from you?

After all these years of walking with Him, I still cannot fathom why He would want to meet with me. But I know it’s true. So, when I enter His presence, it’s with the thought that He wants to be with me and that I can bring Him pleasure by letting Him look at me and hear my voice.

How does understanding that the Lord wants to meet with you affect how you approach your time of daily devotions?
