A Vision and a Calling

By this time you ought to be teachers. —Hebrews 5:12

If you qualify as an older woman, there are reasons you’ve been learning about life all these years. One is to help you accumulate godly wisdom and apply it to life’s hurdles. But equally important is the ability to share that wisdom with others.

Women who by God’s grace have cultivated the fruit of the Spirit are to come alongside other women who need help developing self-control, kindness, and well-ordered priorities. Our job is to embody the wisdom of God’s Word in such a way that we can effectively teach it to others.

This calling isn’t just for some supposed class of spiritual superstars or those who possess special teaching gifts. We’re all called to model what it looks like to live out the gospel in every area of life. Then we’re to teach those coming behind us how to do the same. As we do this, our own growth is furthered, the baton of faith is passed on to the next generation, the health of the church is preserved, and its witness to the world is enhanced.

Make it Personal

Ask God to help you connect with a younger believer in order to come alongside them and help them grow in godly wisdom.
