A Love Story

February 1, 2026 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

I have loved you with an everlasting love. —Jeremiah 31:3

Everyone loves a good love story. That’s because we were created to give and receive love. We were made for intimacy.

Yet most of us know more about the absence of intimacy than the reality of it. We long to know we matter to someone. However, even in the best relationships, the most we’re able to do is dull that sense of longing. No one on earth can completely satisfy it.

That’s because the God who created this hole in our hearts is the only One who can fill it. In Scripture, we encounter a God who seeks to draw us to Himself, who knows us intimately, and who invites us to know Him in the same way.

From start to finish, God’s Word is one incredible love story. And it’s a story that has your name and mine in it. Whether you grew up in church or in no church at all, whether your background is “respectable” or tainted, whether you’re well-versed in the Bible or just getting acquainted with it—there’s room in this love story for you.
