Read through the Bible, Day 92

Today’s chapter includes the Davidic Covenant, a passage that has ramifications throughout the rest of Scripture. These promises to David are a reminder that God’s plans are everlasting and unshakable, and His purposes extend forever.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

2 Samuel 7–10

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

The Davidic Covenant points forward to the eternal reign through David’s line, ultimately fulfilled in Jesus. How does knowing God’s plan for an eternal kingdom give you hope today?

"To be kind is to be like God. And when we are kind to those who are unkind to us, we show them the amazing, undeserved kindness of God." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
