Read through the Bible, Day 66

In today’s reading, Joshua leads Israel to conquer the northern kings, completing the land's military subjugation as God commands, and the land finally has rest from war. Additionally, we see the division of the land among the tribes, including Caleb receiving Hebron as his inheritance for faithfully following the Lord.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Joshua 11–14

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

Joshua 14:14 says of Caleb, “he followed the LORD, the God of Israel, completely.” What a legacy—to say “Yes, Lord!” Take some time today to reflect on why the Lord is worthy of being followed completely.

"O Lord, Caleb had to wait forty-five years to receive the inheritance You had promised him. All that time, he never forgot Your promises and never stopped believing them. May I never cease to believe Your Word and never believe I am too old to fight spiritual giants and face fierce opposition in Your strength. Amen." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
