In today’s reading we begin the book of Joshua. In chapters 1–4 we will see God’s call for Joshua to be courageous, God’s grace to Rahab, and the crossing of the Jordan river.
Before you begin
Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.
Read
Review
Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.
Reflect
In Joshua 4, the Lord commands Israel to set up memorial stones so that they remember when the Lord brought them through the Jordan River. It is good for us to have “memorial stones” in our lives as well; reminders of the Lord’s faithfulness and provision. Take some time today to remember and praise the Lord for a specific instance where you saw His faithfulness.
