Read through the Bible, Day 61

Moses is nearing the end of his life. Soon, the Israelites will no longer hear his voice, but the song he leaves behind will ring in their hearts for generations to come.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Deuteronomy 31–32

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

In chapter 32 verse 6, Moses asks the people, “Didn’t [God] make you and sustain you?” Take some time today to reflect on the ways that you’ve seen the Lord sustain you.

"This steadfastness of God isn’t something to bristle at and quaver under. Rather it’s a gift, the “blessed assurance” that no matter how unreliable those around us may be, no matter how unstable our own footing, or how often or far we may fall, God will always be there, ever true, ever trustworthy." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
