Read through the Bible, Day 59

In today's reading, Moses reminds the Israelites of the blessings of obedience and curses of disobedience—showing that God’s laws make for healthy relationships and a blessed life.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Deuteronomy 27–28

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

When others look at your life, does it give them an accurate picture of the goodness that comes from following God’s ways?

"You don’t want to surrender to God’s control? You won’t bow to His will in relation to your marriage, your morals, your attitudes, your tongue, your eating habits, your spending habits, or the way you spend your time? Then count on it—the very points on which you refuse to surrender will become “enemies” that rule over you." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
