Read through the Bible, Day 47

The daughters of Zelophehad boldly and humbly asked for an inheritance so their father’s name would not be lost—and God honored their faith by granting their request. They trusted God’s promise for a land they had not yet seen.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Numbers 27–29

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

Pray that God would raise up women like the daughters of Zelophehad—women who walk by faith, believe His promises, obey His Word, seek Him wholeheartedly, and honor Him with their lives—so that they may sow seeds that will reap a harvest for this generation and those to come.

"O Lord, thank You for Your compassion for these fatherless sisters who otherwise would have been left to fend for themselves. And thank You for Your compassionate care for me and for the inheritance You have given me in Christ, for I would have had no hope apart from You. Amen." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
