Read through the Bible, Day 32

In today's reading, God gives the Israelites instructions as to what holiness looks like and how they can live it out in their everyday life.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Leviticus 17–20

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

As you read these passages, how do you see the theme of love—God’s love for His people and His desire for that love to be reflected in the way that they treat others?

"The Old Testament followers of Yahweh lived with the priestly structure and hierarchy that governed their worship habits. Though repetitive and costly, the regular rituals revealed God’s desire to restore fellowship with these repeat offenders He’d called to be His people. It provided them a way to be purified before Him, their sins atoned for." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
