Read through the Bible, Day 3

January 3, 2026

In the midst of judgment, God made provision for rescue, and Noah’s family found refuge in the ark until the floodwaters receded. Rejoice in the fact that He made provision for your rescue as well.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Genesis 8–11

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

Is there an area of your life in which you're trying to build a tower—of your own identity, influence, or control—apart from God?

"As followers of Christ, we often call what’s happening in our world today a culture war, but it’s really a cosmic war between kingdoms. Man doesn’t want to acknowledge the reign of God, something that can be traced back to Genesis 3. We’re born wanting to be our own god." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
