As we conclude the book of Daniel, today’s reminder is this: even when the world seems full of conflict, chaos, and evil rulers, God is in control. He calls His people to live wisely—shining like stars in a dark world, faithful in service, steadfast in trials, and trusting His sovereign plan.
Before you begin
Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Review
Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.
Reflect
How could trusting God’s sovereignty change your perspective on the areas of life where you feel the world’s chaos and conflict the most? How is God calling you to shine like a “star” in your current circumstances?
God’s people will keep facing struggles and opposition as we journey through life, perhaps even up to and including our deaths. But God’s promise is that we will be “refined, purified, and cleansed” through those ordeals. And nothing can keep our deliverance and the demise of every enemy from coming “at the appointed time.” —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1
