Read through the Bible, Day 222

Woe to the shepherds who destroy and scatter the sheep! The Lord Himself will gather the remnant and raise up the righteous Branch.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Jeremiah 23–25

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How does the promise of the righteous Branch—King Jesus—bring comfort to your heart when human leadership fails?

O Lord, we have witnessed faithless shepherds who fail to care for the flock; some who even fleece the flock for their personal gain. But You are the Good Shepherd and Your people are Your flock. You have promised to restore them, bring them back to Your field where they belong, and bless them. You will never forsake those who belong to You. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond
