Read through the Bible, Day 21

January 21, 2026

God gave the Israelites detailed laws to guide their lives, showing His holiness and care for justice. At Mount Sinai, the covenant was confirmed through a blood ceremony signaling that without a sacrifice, they couldn’t stand before a holy God.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Exodus 22–24

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How does Jesus’ perfect fulfillment of the law impact your trust and faith in Him?

"Store in your mind and heart four words that are always involved in atonement: sin, sacrifice, substitute, satisfaction. Sin requires a sacrifice. Jesus Christ, the sinless “Lamb of God” (John 1:29), was sacrificed as our substitute. And God’s justice and righteous wrath were satisfied." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
