Read through the Bible, Day 190

Honest, faithful friendship is priceless. True friends are willing to offer loving correction. While those wounds may sting at first, they ultimately lead to growth and allow relationships to flourish.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Proverbs 25–28

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

How do you typically respond when a trusted friend offers correction or points out something you need to work on? Is there an area where you’ve been resisting loving, helpful feedback?

As we walk in the light with our fellow believers, they can help us see areas where we need to be broken. “Faithful are the wounds of a friend” who loves us enough to point out our spiritual blind spots. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
