Read through the Bible, Day 19

January 19, 2026

By God's grace, the panic the Israelites experienced at the Red Sea turned to a song of praise. But it didn’t take long before their worship was replaced with whining, and the Israelites encountered a new opportunity to trust God’s character and ways.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Exodus 15–18

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

In what moments are you more tempted to pout rather than to praise God? How can you shift your focus to gratitude and trust?

"Ask God for what is sufficient for today, trusting that when tomorrow comes, He’ll provide all that’s needed." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
