Read through the Bible, Day 18

January 18, 2026

Today's reading contains cause for rejoicing: everything changed with the Passover. God rescued His people from slavery, and as they left Egypt, God’s presence guided them—they were protected, provided for, and led by the Lord Himself.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

Exodus 12–14

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

What do you think your life would look like today if God hadn’t rescued you from sin and spiritual slavery? Pause and thank Him for the deliverance He's brought in your life.

"The Old Testament exodus was intended to point toward a New Testament exodus, a mission to be led by an even greater Deliverer. Its purpose? To redeem us from our bondage to an even more sinister tyrant—human sin." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
