According to today’s psalms, there is a God above all heaven and earth who has set His eyes—and His heart—upon His people. Rejoice, believer, that includes you!
Before you begin
Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.
Read
Review
Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.
Reflect
Too often we fail to see our true neediness. Yet Psalm 113:7 says, “He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the trash heap.” Consider the privilege of the Lord lifting you from your helpless state and seating you with Christ. How can you better express your gratitude for His mercy and grace today?
At the heart of the gospel, at the heart of the cross, is the Lord Jesus opening His arms wide and saying, “I want you to come Home with me.” —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1
