Our reading today begins with a call for God to exercise vengeance “for the glory of your name.” How easily we forget that God is glorified both in His righteous wrath and in His abundant mercy.
Before you begin
Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Review
Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.
Reflect
“How long, LORD?” is the prayer of the psalmist (Psalm 79:5; 80:4; 82:2). What “How long” prayers have you prayed in recent months? Consider whether they are focused on your own comfort or on the glory of God.
God will bless us and make us a blessing. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1
