Today’s psalms highlight the longing for justice and the need for lament in the lives of God’s people. Even in difficult circumstances, we can draw comfort from David’s confidence that the Lord is near and will ultimately prevail.
Before you begin
Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.
Reflect
Psalm 17 concludes with the statement, “But I will see your face in righteousness; when I awake, I will be satisfied with your presence” (v. 15). How do David’s words speak to areas of discontent in your own heart today?
O Lord, Your Word will protect me from paths that lead to sin. By Your Spirit and Your grace, help me to walk with You in paths of righteousness; keep me from stumbling and falling this day—and every day till I arrive safely Home. Amen. —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1
