Read through the Bible, Day 103

Solomon’s acquisition of wealth and his achievements receive worldwide attention. But over time he begins to forget the source of his blessings, and the wisest, richest man in the world becomes a fool because he doesn’t obey God’s Word.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

1 Kings 10–12

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

Are there areas in your life where the pursuit of more of something (wealth, status, pleasure, etc.) has started to take your focus off God?

"O Lord, may I not love anything or anyone in such a way as to turn my heart away from You to follow after other gods. Guard my heart that I may be wholeheartedly devoted to You. Amen." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
