Read through the Bible, Day 100

“The wisdom of Solomon” is a phrase many people say without knowing what it refers to. Today we’ll see how God provided Solomon this wisdom—ultimately foreshadowing Christ, who is Himself the wisdom of God.

Before you begin

Ask the Lord to give you a fresh sense of wonder as you read His Word. Pray for understanding and for an open, humble, obedient heart to receive what He wants to say to you.

Read

1 Kings 3–5

Review

Write a sentence or two about what you've just read. This could be a summary of the passage or an observation or highlight that stood out to you.

Reflect

In your life, where do you need to pause and ask God for His wisdom rather than relying on your own understanding?

"The wisdom of God is infinitely higher than human wisdom. He values and esteems many of the things we despise and reject. If we only could grasp His eternal purposes, we would be enthralled with the perfection and splendor of His ways." —Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth1

Respond

Write a short prayer, based on today’s reading. This could include praise, gratitude, personal confession, agreement with the truth, or a request for yourself or someone else.
