“You are treasured by God.” —Daniel 9:23
God from ancient times said He chose Israel “to be a people for his treasured possession” (Deut. 14:2 ESV). The people of God are treasured by God. He loves them. And whether you feel it to be true or not, He loves you. He hears you and answers your prayers.
We’re put through so many challenges during our lives, forced to endure all kinds of demeaning, humiliating pressure from the battles of this world. But look up and remember who you are. Scripture says that Jesus was “rejected by men but in the sight of God chosen and precious” (1 Pet. 2:4 ESV). You may be rejected by the elites and the scoffers of this world. But if you are in Christ, in the sight of God, you are “chosen and precious.” God says to His own, I love you. I hear you. I know you. I’ve got you.
Even within the nerve-bending, never-ending presence of such titanic conflict, God wants you repeatedly reminded that you are precious to Him, that He is tenderly mindful of you. That you are treasured by Him.
