But for you who fear my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings, and you will go out and playfully jump like calves from the stall. —Malachi 4:2
Many times, we grow weary in our Christian walk. We grow cold in heart and spirit, and we turn a deaf ear to the things we know God expects of us. Perhaps we do not stray completely, but we serve on “autopilot”—going through the motions with apathy, without joy, and without passion.
Yet when we recognize that we have drifted, that we have not obeyed with gladness, and that we have not offered Him our firstfruits or served with wholehearted devotion, He remains faithful to lift us up, to draw us close, and to restore our hearts.
He is a God of covenants, abounding in love and rich in mercy. Turn back to Him. Receive His grace. Trust in His faithfulness.
