Trusting in the Quiet

September 28, 2025 Portia Collins

Faith is the reality of what is hoped for, the proof of what is not seen. —Hebrews 11:1

I struggle to trust God. In fact, I really struggle to trust Him in the details, the waiting, the not yet. While I know He’s good, I wrestle with believing His goodness is at work in the middle of my mess.

Maybe you’re in a season like mine—long, hard, and foggy. Maybe you’ve been sitting in the quiet, wondering if/how God is still moving. Let me encourage you: faith doesn’t require all the answers. It just requires the courage to ask anyway. Trust that the God who led you into this wilderness knows how to lead you out.

And when you can’t see around the corner, remember: He can. He always could. The same God who turned the cross into the greatest act of redemption is writing your story. Every path He places you on leads to good that shapes you into the image of Christ.

And that’s the kind of faith I want to live out. Quiet, firm, cross-shaped faith rooted in the promises of a God who never fails.

Make it Personal

Ask God to grow your trust in Him for both the here and now and also the not yet.
