At that time all your people who are found written in the book will escape. —Daniel 12:1
The Bible is clear that there will be a day when Christ’s work of redemption in our lives and the world is fully complete. On that day, heaven’s court will convene, the books will be opened (Dan. 7:10), and everyone whose name is found “written in the book will escape” (12:1).
How long? He knows. How will it end? We know.
Daniel’s story, like every story, shows both our need for a Savior and God’s faithfulness in providing us salvation. And our stories take us right to His throne. He wins. He saves. He rules. Heaven rules.
So, we endure because He’s already rescued us. We cling to faith because He’s already promised us sight. We pray, “Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matt. 6:10) because we know what’s being done in heaven: God’s will, in God’s time, in God’s eternal victory. And because of Christ, by faith, we’re living in that victory already, even as we wait, watch, and pray here in this broken world.
