The Wisdom of Persevering Faith

July 5, 2026 Karen Ellis

“Don’t worry about how you should defend yourselves or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you at that very hour what must be said.” —Luke 12:11–12

The world of anti-Christian hostility is a world of ever-changing cultural rules. The ground shifts and destabilizes in an effort to throw us off guard. Oftentimes we cannot plan how you will respond. Try though we might to write a script and consider every contingency, we can’t always anticipate what the volatile religion of Cain will do or how they will instill fear.

Take courage. Wisdom shows up with persevering faith.

To show forth Christ’s wisdom to a hostile culture, sometimes we must speak or act the truth as a part of prophetic confrontation. Sometimes this is the truth unto discomfort, sometimes it is truth unto death.

This is when you need Wisdom’s persevering faith. Wisdom tells us what to say, when to say it, and conquers our fear granting strength. It turns our sputtering words into apples of gold in settings of silver. Timely, digestible, full of life, and whole.
