Make your ways known to me, LORD; teach me your paths. —Psalm 25:4–5
One of the greatest desires of my heart is that I might know the ways of God. To know His thoughts, His feelings, and His heart. To have His perspective on everything. To know what brings Him joy and what causes Him to grieve.
That’s why, before I begin to read God’s Word in the morning, I often pray the above words of David from Psalm 25. This psalm goes on to tell us the kind of man or woman to whom God will reveal His ways: the humble—“He leads the humble in what is right and teaches them his way” (v. 9)—as well as the one who fears the Lord—“He will show him the way he should choose” (v. 12).
Are you hungry to know more of the Lord? Eager to grasp His will and His purposes? God’s willingness to share His secrets with His creatures is evidence of His desire to have an intimate relationship and friendship with us. Come humbly and reverently. Let Him show you His ways.
