The Source of Gratitude

November 24, 2025 Yamell Jaramillo

Let the peace of Christ, to which you were also called in one body, rule your hearts. And be thankful. —Colossians 3:15

Many of us are familiar with the theme of gratitude in the life of Paul. No matter his message, Paul gave thanks to God, to those who helped him, and to the churches. While God is the source of all blessings, we’re also called to be grateful to those He uses to bless us.

Gratitude shouldn’t depend on circumstances but on the One who controls them. That’s why we’re called to always praise Him. I’ve had seasons when nothing around me has felt praise-worthy, but singing to the Lord calmed my heart and shifted my focus to where it belonged: on God’s unchanging character.

It’s in those moments when things aren’t as we hoped that our hearts are often inclined to doubt God’s goodness and to forget His promises. If you, like me, have been struggling to give thanks to God today, I encourage you to take time to mediate on the truth of His Word. Let it reset your heart and renew a spirit of gratitude.
