The Key to Peace

octobre 26, 2021 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. —Isaiah 26:3

When life’s challenges come your way, do you respond like a weaned child or an unweaned one?

If your heart isn’t weaned, you’ll focus on things you think you need in order to be happy. If God doesn’t give them to you, you’ll argue with Him and resist His plans. Once your heart is weaned, however, you can trust the Lord. The strife will be over, and your soul will be quiet.

When your heart is weaned, you can accept difficult situations and trust they are being filtered through God’s loving hands. If God chooses to bring better circumstances into your life, you can be grateful for the blessing. But if He doesn’t change things, you can still be grateful and know He is good.

As François Fenelon said, “Inward peace comes with absolute surrender to the will of God. . . . The moment you stop wanting things to be your way, you will be free from so much worry and concern.”5

Make it Personal

Ask God to help you accept what He brings into your life this day and to trust that He loves and cares for you.
