We all, with unveiled faces, are looking as in a mirror at the glory of the Lord and are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory. —2 Corinthians 3:18
By the grace and mercy of God, our sin became Jesus’ sin and His righteousness became our righteousness. What an exchange! But it wasn’t an exchange in the usual sense as we would understand it because He did not keep our sin. He took it only so He could kill it. He terminated its power.
But we do get to keep His righteousness. Against the reality of sin that has no living future, we now live within the covering righteousness of Christ. And just as the imprints of sin are fading, so His righteousness is expanding. We are progressing from one degree of glory to another.
When Jesus was baptized, “heaven opened” (Luke 3:21). This demonstrated the Father’s anointing on the Son and declared that heaven’s gates had been unlocked. God extended a glorious welcome to all who would believe in His Son whom He had sent.

Read Romans 6:1–14. Christ put sin to death. Are you therefore living as one who is “dead to sin”?
