The End

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; on that day the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, the elements will burn and be dissolved, and the earth and the works on it will be disclosed. —2 Peter 3:10

My heart was first captivated by the theme of “Heaven rules” some years ago, when I spent months journaling my way through the book of Daniel. When I came to the final chapters, I found myself wading through the lengthy, detailed apocalyptic visions, trying to understand what God intended for Daniel (and us) to take away from them. Here’s how I finally summarized those chapters. It’s what gives me the strength and hope I need to press on today and tomorrow and every day . . . until That Day.

Powerful rulers. Aggressive, arrogant. Truth trampled. Lies prevail.

Saints persecuted. Sanctuary profaned. How long?! God knows.

Evildoers overthrown. Sanctuary restored. God wins. The end.

Heaven rules. Forever.
