Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against evil, spiritual forces in the heavens. —Ephesians 6:12
We do not live merely in a 3D world, where everything we see happening around us is simply the cause-and-effect result of people interacting with people, of purely natural processes that occasionally catch us in the crossfire. We live here on earth amid the clashing and clanging of a conflict taking place in the unseen heavenly dimension. And at times the enemies of God and His people seem to be winning.
The forces of evil are strong. They are capable of creating hurdles, difficulties, and delays for God’s people. But be sure of this: they can only oppose; they cannot prevail. They are under Heaven’s rule, and they cannot stop His work from being accomplished.
At the end of the day, whatever trouble they can cause has already been defeated by the plans and purposes of God in Christ to transform evil’s curse into blessing for all the redeemed. Even as we battle on.
