Make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead. —Hebrews 12:13
“Carl” is a friend who found himself under the heavy hand of God’s conviction. Years earlier, he had testified in federal court, where he’d purposely given vague answers.
One night, Carl sensed God surfacing this issue. He tried to reason it away, knowing he could go to prison for perjury. But the Spirit wouldn’t let him off the hook.
Finally, Carl phoned the judge’s office. Not until a year later did he find out that neither side wanted to reopen the case. But his obedience in this one issue opened the door for God’s grace to be poured into every facet of his life. His heart was turned in a new way toward his family; he began to experience a deeper level of sensitivity toward the Lord and others. In the decades since, he hasn’t lost the spiritual vibrancy that resulted from that initial step of obedience.
Just one step. Sometimes that’s the only thing holding you back from a walk of true freedom, fullness, and fruitfulness in Christ.

Make it Personal
Ask the Spirit to search your heart and reveal if there’s “one step” of humility and obedience that you need to take.
