Are [angels] not all ministering spirits sent out to serve those who are going to inherit salvation? —Hebrews 1:14
Most of us don’t talk about angels a lot in our daily lives. But the Bible makes it clear that angels are real. These servants of God are among the many means He has of getting His peace and strength through to us.
So never despair of looking up for help, even at your most weak and breathless moment. “Heaven rules” doesn’t mean God is impersonal, uncaring, or unresponsive, detached from our very real concerns and crises. Though He is sovereign and mighty, though He is glorious beyond compare, the Lord hears and responds to the prayers of His people and gives both peace and strength.
As a mother is drawn toward the cries of her helpless, tiny baby, our God is moved to bring comfort and supply to us at the sound of our prayers as they’re poured out in the midst of the fiercest battle. Those prayers are the “battle cry” that heaven loves to hear; they move our King to send supernatural reinforcements to engage with us in the fray.
