By these he has given us very great and precious promises, so that through them you may share in the divine nature, escaping the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire. —2 Peter 1:4
How different would our lives be if we really laid hold of the promises of God, if we believed He means what He says?
How different indeed. Often the difference between walking away from temptation and walking into it is whether we believe that what God has for us is better. As He promised. Likewise, the difference between persevering through hardship and giving up is whether we believe God really will reward us in His way and time. And to bring the question down into the routine days, the difference between peace and agitation is in knowing God is present and working in ways that are invisible to us.
To live according to the promises of God requires great faith—and not just in the big and public moments but in the small and private ones too. Do you trust Him?
