Our Greatest Impact

October 30, 2026 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Consider it a great joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you experience various trials, because you know that the testing of your faith produces endurance. —James 1:2–3

Adversity and difficulty are not things to be avoided at all costs. Besides, they’ll come seeking us anyway. We couldn’t avoid them even if we tried.

But not only should we live expecting challenges; we can live making the most of them. Our witness for Christ stands out the most vividly in times of crisis. Our greatest impact is felt in those moments when it’s hardest to believe that “Heaven rules” and yet by faith we keep our hearts and minds steadily tethered to Christ. That’s when we as “people who know [our] God” show Him strong by taking action (Dan. 11:32).

It’s all part of our Heaven rules action plan, which turns us from worriers into warriors; from hard-luck stories into long-suffering, overcoming survivors and victors; from complainers into compelling examples of God’s reigning power and glory. Our lives testify to all who see us that they too can take His truth as living gospel.

Make it Personal

Pray that your response to the difficulties and challenges you face would serve as a testimony to God’s love, power, and glory.
