Who can separate us from the love of Christ? Can affliction or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? —Romans 8:35
Not only did Mary love her Son, she was dearly loved by the Lord Jesus. In the final moments of His life, Jesus made sure that His widowed, bereaved mother would be properly and adequately cared for and that her needs would be met. He provided means of grace for her within the context of the family of God. She accepted His love and provision for her needs.
As I minister all over the world, I find so many Christian women who feel unloved and emotionally needy. When they look to the things of this earth to fill their emotional void, they invariably end up empty and disappointed. No one and nothing can fill that God-sized vacuum. But in Jesus we have One who knows and understands us, who loves us fervently, and who cares for us and has provided for our needs.
The question is, will we believe His promise? Will we let Him love us? Will we receive His provision?
