Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, since he who promised is faithful. —Hebrews 10:23
Many of us have probably prayed for the Lord to fulfill His purpose in our lives. Perhaps you have asked the Lord to do whatever He needs to do so that you can know Him in a deeper way. These are what we would call “dangerous” prayers. And you know what? I prayed like that recently. And when brokenness came, it wasn’t very pleasant. “Getting to know God more” came to me in a way I did not expect.
When my husband and I went through a trial not long ago, the first week we cried a lot. It was extremely difficult, but thank God for His Holy Spirit who kept us strong, reminding us that we don’t serve a God of confusion but One who is faithful to His promises. In the midst of trials, I can hold on to my hope in the Lord without wavering, for He is using adversity for a purpose. His gospel is good news of salvation not only for the future but for the present.
