I complain and groan morning, noon, and night, and he hears my voice. —Psalm 55:17
You may feel kind of pitiful, as I do at times, when you’re crying out to the Lord all by yourself with no one around. But you can be sure God hears your cry.
Any mother will tell you she can pick out her baby’s cry from a cacophony of bawling children in the nursery. Just because they’re all screaming at once doesn’t keep her child’s voice from rising above the din—not to her ears.
So, don’t hold back from seeking God’s presence and His loving attention amid whatever troubling situation may surround you today. Perhaps you’re reeling from the painful revelation that your spouse has been unfaithful to your marriage. Perhaps your job is on shaky ground. Perhaps you’re torn between what appear to be equally reasonable choices in a difficult major decision.
Then whether night or morning or noon—or an all-day combination of all three—don’t be ashamed to raise your cry to the heavens. He will hear. He will deliver. And He will be glorified.
