“Look, I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands; your walls are continually before me.” —Isaiah 49:16
Why don’t we always live like God’s promises are iron-clad? Is it fear— worrying He’ll take them back like a parent, friend, or spouse once did? Are we performing to make God happy so He doesn’t retract His words? Could it be we’ve forgotten the covenant vows He’s made, or perhaps, we don’t know them at all?
Whether it’s fear, lack of knowledge, or wavering faith, we can reorient our hearts by anchoring them to God’s precious promises.
One of those promises is that God remembers us. We humans are forgetful beings—car keys, passwords, forgotten grocery lists—but the Lord never forgets. In fact, He is good at remembering. He knows each of His children intimately. When Scripture says that He doesn’t forget you, it actually goes much deeper—your name is inscribed on His hands, a testimony of His constant love.
Let your heart anchor in this truth: God remembers you and His promises are unshakable—hold fast to them today.
