Face Time

June 11, 2026 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

My heart says this about you: “Seek his face.” LORD, I will seek your face. —Psalm 27:8

When one of your children does something he shouldn’t, the last place he wants to look is in your eyes. Something has come between the two of you, and the fellowship is broken.

If you’ve walked with God for any length of time, you know what it’s like to experience a breach in your relationship with Him, to find it difficult to look Him “in the eyes.” One of the purposes of a daily devotional time is to draw near to Him, find out what has caused the separation, and experience restored fellowship, so you can once again look into His face without shame or fear.

As you meet with God, don’t forget the ultimate purpose isn’t simply to gain more knowledge about Him but to know Him. You may be a seasoned student of Scripture or even a Bible study leader. But if your time with Him doesn’t lead you to know Him in a deeper way, you’ve missed the heart of the matter. Look again into His face today. And don’t look away.
