Drink Deeply

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” —John 7:37–38 ESV

Standing in the jet bridge waiting to board my flight, the air is thick and the temperature sweltering. The long line of travelers look impatient and fidgety. I’m also hot and tired. I know I’m in need of refreshment and renewal, so I go to the well of living water.

I don’t bow my head or close my eyes but silently I enter a quiet place of worship. I cry out to the One who alone can fully satisfy my thirst. I ask Him to replenish what days of physical and emotional depletion have taken from me. I worship Him for being the Almighty, the faithful Redeemer, my Father, my God. And suddenly, I’m filled with fresh gratitude that He would invite me to enter into relationship with Him.

Are you weary? Jesus invites you to come to the living water. He desires for you to drink deeply of Him and to share this grand invitation with others.
