Coming Before the Throne

February 28, 2025 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

“Ask, and it will be given to you.” —Matthew 7:7

When we become aware of a need, we may be reluctant to approach the King of the universe. But we forget that this King loves us, has chosen us, and has determined to accomplish His purposes on earth in union with the prayers of His people. In fact, He’s waiting for us to ask.

We may be fearful to approach One who is so powerful. But when we approach His throne, “clothed in His righteousness alone,” we obtain “favor in His sight.” He extends His golden scepter toward us, and we’re welcomed to draw near.

Having granted us access into His presence, the King says to us, “What is your request, my beloved? Ask, and you will receive.”

I often wonder what supernatural acts God would perform in our world—things He’s ready, willing, eager, and able to do—if we would just approach Him and make our requests known. What wonders and blessings does He wish to release that await only the heart-cry of one of His subjects down here on earth?
