“Come, see a man who told me everything I ever did.” —John 4:29
How many times had her Samaritan neighbors heard this woman tell them to “come, see [yet another] man” to whom she had given her affections? Understandably, her statement would have been another reason for them to roll their eyes at her, except that this Man—this Jesus—had looked into her soul and seen everything she’d ever done. And though that should have been a terrifying experience, this Man had proven to be a source of abounding grace.
Despite what He knew about her, He had received her. And He promised if she would bring all her needs, desires, and past failings to Him, He would satisfy her with “living water” that would never stop replenishing her thirsty, repentant spirit.
That’s what draws me to this Man—to this Jesus. He knows everything about me and still loves me. He’s seen into recesses of my heart that I keep hidden even from myself, yet when I come to Him and am willing to bring those places into the light, He offers boundless stores of fresh grace.

Who could you invite to “come and see” Jesus? How might your story of His grace encourage someone who feels unworthy of His love?
