Christ, the Constant One

September 19, 2025 Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. —Hebrews 13:8

The unsettling push and pull of change is ever with us—whether it’s the weather, our schedules, our health, our friendships, or any other thing upon which we naively rely. Change is normative, as industry leaders remind us. No day looks exactly like the day before. “Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matt. 6:34).

And yet there is a great and holy constant: Christ. Rather than eliminating change from our lives, God gave us Jesus as our unchanging constant. The One who is always the same. He is our fixed anchor in a constantly changing world. And oh, how glad we are that He is!

Think of it: Christ is fixed, immovable, unchanging, steady. He has no off days. We never wonder whether He is available or awake or watchful. He is always who He has been. And He will always be who He is. He is the unchanging constant.
