“No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” —John 6:44

Salvation is a gift of grace that we receive by faith. Even the faith to believe is a gift. No one has ever come to Christ after wrestling against God’s unwillingness to save them; we all came because we were invited—invited by God Himself.

We would not know God if He hadn’t revealed Himself to us. More than that, we wouldn’t desire Him unless He had put it in our heart to seek Him. We believe in Him because He has given us the gift of faith. As we heard the gospel and believed its message, God was working. There was no gap between what He did to make salvation possible and our believing in Him; His work was continuous . . . He gave His Son, He caused us to hear the gospel, He gave us faith to believe, and then He received us.

It was all of Him.
